Bored, I decided to click (oh, the spyware) to see what was left out by the *. Quite a bit. You have to register with the sponsor, you have to refer others to register (a significant number of others), presumably you have to endure having your contact information sold to every unsavory direct marketing firm under the sun, and the sponsor "reserves the right to change Terms and Conditions, including the incentives and the required number of referrals, at any time and without notice"...which means, in effect, they don't have to give you a laptop if they don't want to. While I'm all in favor of flooding the mailboxes and suctioning the bank accounts of anybody stupid enough to believe the inflated claims of a pop-up ad, part of me wants to be a lazy rich idealist. If I had the money and time, I would do what a certain NBA star did a couple of years ago...sue for $1, refusing to settle, so that a precedent could be set. Well, that was fun. Now I'm bored again.
